Jessica Madron

Lawyer – Legal and Governance, British Business Bank

Overview

I qualified in 1985 and after a few years as a corporate commercial lawyer in private practice I moved in house as a commercial lawyer at Royal Mail in 1988. During my career at Royal Mail and subsequently (post privatisation) at Post Office Ltd I was involved on many commercial matters, but a couple that stand out are  the first retailer contract for the National Lottery and the transformation of the Post Office agency network. My last few years at Post Office Ltd were as a head of legal, reporting to the GC, managing a small team and helping to introduce the first functional management initiatives (e.g  Legal tracker) to our team. In 2017 I left Post Office Ltd on early retirement and since then have been a consultant at DAC Beachcroft Ltd and I’m currently an in house lawyer at British Business Bank plc.
